The Application

THE APPLICATION
F.A.Q. | Taken Characters | The Rules | Reserves | AU Workshop

Player Name: What do you want people to call you?
Contact: Best form of contact!
Timezone: Self explanatory~

Character name: What the package says. Feel free to add their hero name if they’re an adult!
Age: Take your pick! This doesn’t have to be canon. Not even MHA canon.
Birthday: Don’t have one? Make one up.

Family: If you’ve worked out any sort of special family bonds with another player, put them here. Otherwise just list generic mother, father, siblings, etc. Remember, no named character can be listed without the explicit permission of the player responsible for that character. If the character is not taken, you cannot list them as family regardless. You may vaguely refer to a character but not name them, such as suggesting that Shoto Todoroki has a controlling father who is a flame-base pro-hero, but you cannot name Endeavor/Enji Todoroki as his father.

Occupation: Are they a pro hero? Student? Teacher? Vigilante? Barista? List it here. If the character is a student list your preferred class for them.

Quirk: If this is a canon character then your work is done for you. If not, think up a name for the quirk and then give us a short explanation on how it works and the drawbacks.

History: Once again, if you’re keeping canon then your work is finished. Just link the Wiki. If your character has no in-depth history even in canon then please feel free to get creative, just make sure it makes sense. If you are bringing in an outside/original character or want to change up an existing character then you need to give us a brief but complete history of what transpired that brought them to this point in their life. Remember, characters cannot be named without player consent, so for example Deku could still have been given One for All, but it cannot be stated that he received it from All Might.

Character Name: Shoto Todoroki
Age: 15
Birthday: January 11th
Family: Asshole pro-hero father, mentally unstable mother, missing older brother, older brother #2, older sister that pretends everything is fine
Occupation: Student - Class 1-A

Quirk:
Half Cold/Half Hot
Shoto has a split quirk, thanks to his parents, in which he has pyrokinesis on his left side and cryokinesis on his right side. He mainly uses his cryokinesis, having near perfect control of these abilities and can rapidly drop the temperature of anything he touches, encasing it in ice or creating massive ice walls if he so chooses. His dislike of his father keeps him from using his pyrokinesis which means his control of it is pretty terrible.

The biggest drawback of his quirk is maintaining consistent temperatures. Overuse of his ice-side results in frostbite on the right side of his body that slows him down and weakens him drastically. He can counteract it by using his fire but overuse of his flames will ultimately result in horrific burns and heatstroke.

Character name: Izuku Midoriya
Age: 15
Birthday: 7/15
Family: Mother (deceased), Father (estranged), Shouta Aizawa (adoptive father)

Occupation: Student, Class 1-A

Quirk: None.

History: Izuku was born to a loving mother and a less then enthusiastic father in the suburbs of Tokyo. His father left for a job across the sea when he was two, and so Izuku barely knew him aside from phone calls now and then. He grew up wanting nothing more than to be a hero, idolizing those he saw on television and the internet in place of his absent father, but found out at age four that he had no quirk.

This would be the second most devastating time in his life.

The first came a year later when a villain attack saw the death of Mrs Midoriya. The authorities reached out to Mr Midoriya, but he refused his parental rights and left Izuku orphaned. Thankfully the young pro hero who came to his rescue became attached, and thus Izuku was adopted by Eraserhead. While Aizawa wasn't the perfect parent by any stretch, he was more than enough for his young charge and the pair bonded quickly.

He grew up in close proximity to UA thanks to his "dad's" teaching job and always aspired to attend when he was old enough. With Shouta's help he studied hard and trained even harder, and despite being quirkless insisted on taking the entrance exam for the hero course. He aced the written portion, but failed to get any points in the combat/practical portion of the exam. Or so he thought. While Izuku didn't manage to take out any of the robots, his quick thinking and fast actions helped him save many other participants from harm, earning him enough rescue points to win a place into the revered class 1-A.

Character Name: Shota Aizawa
Age: 30
Birthday: November 8th
Family: Unnamed Father, Unnamed Mother, Izuku Midoriya (Adopted Son)
Occupation: Pro Hero, Teacher

Quirk:
Erasure
Shota has the ability to nullify anyone's quirk by looking at them. While powerful, it does have several drawbacks including:

-Deactivation if Shota blinks or if the person moves out of his line of sight.
-Gives him horrible dry eye and causes him to blink more often the longer he uses it.
-Mutation class quirks are immune to it.

Full Breakdown

History:
An alumni of U.A. High School, Shota had only been out of school for two years when a horrific incident involving a villain wiping out a city block changed the entire course of his life.

Not yet a pro by any means, Shota--also known as Eraserhead--had been called onto the scene with many others to perform search and rescue duties and on the third and last day of the operation he found a young boy underneath some rumble. Eraser stayed with the boy, though he didn't have much of a choice given how tightly the child clung to him, and after several days and a lot of surprising fretting later, he found out that the child had no one.

And he became Izuku Midoriya's guardian.

Putting his life as a hero mostly on back-burner, Aizawa found a place at U.A. High School once Izuku was settled and attending school himself so he could be on a similar schedule to his new charge. It wasn't easy for either of them but they slowly adjusted and their bond grew as the years passed. (Shota still worked here and there as a hero, eventually gaining official pro status so he could keep his license active.)

Eventually Izuku was old enough to apply to U.A. despite not having a quirk of his own and Aizawa did everything he could to help his "son" prepare, knowing that it was going to be a gamble but if anyone could do it it was Izuku. Lo and behold, the young man did it and ended up in Class 1-A; the class that Shota himself taught.

Character Name: Toshinori Yagi, "All Might"
Age: 50s
Birthday: June 10th
Family: Unknown family
Occupation: Pro Hero, Teacher at U.A. High

Quirk:
A hybrid quirk. It is a power-stacking quirk capable of being passed from one person to the next. Each holder of One for All builds upon the power before passing it forward to the next holder. Thus far there have been eight holders, with Toshinori Yagi being the eighth.

The full extent of One for All’s power is still being discovered as the power is only growing by each person. The nature of the quirk is a secret though and Toshinori is registered as holding a power boosting quirk.

A full breakdown of One for All.

History:
Toshinori Yagi was born quirkless and dreamed of becoming a hero. If not a hero then at least someone people could look towards. Like a symbol of peace! The world was in such turmoil that all he wanted to was for people to feel safe and happy in their lives and to do as much as he could to make that happen.

Which is how he came into possession of One for All. Gifted to him by his mentor, Toshinori was quick to adapt to it. He entered U.A. and became one of the most well-known and well-regarded alumni. His studies took him overseas as well and he was soon making a name for himself. His rapid rise was mostly due to his own unflappable optimism and unbeatable charisma.

Unfortunately, it all came crashing down after a horrific injury during a life or death fight five years ago. A devastating blow left him without a stomach and a compromised respiratory system. His ability to do hero work was shortened drastically. On top of that, he is well past what is considered a hero’s prime.

Still, he stands as the number one hero, by a wide margin. Despite his lessening appearances just the fact he is still active is enough to deter crime.

But he IS older. He has begun to search for his successor for One for All, returning to his old high school to look at the next crop of students. He presents as himself, Toshinori Yagi, and with the skeletal form that has become who he is, to avoid attracting undue attention from the media or anyone else who might try to strike at All Might.

He currently teaches Foundational Hero Studies at U.A., though he is still learning himself how to be the most effective at it. His advantage is the fact he is underestimated by students due to his appearance. When the vote came forward about abolishing the policy regarding quirkless individuals being accepted at U.A. Toshinori was one of the few that voted in favor of upholding the policy. He isn’t entirely pleased that the quirkless are currently allowed at the school, though it has nothing to do with elitism.

It must have something to do with that dark part of his past when he had almost died at the hands of a villain strong enough to almost bring down the number one hero, All Might…. Not that he openly shares those details.

Character Name: Denki Kaminari
Age: 15
Birthday: June 29th
Family: Unknown Mother, Unknown Father
Occupation: Student

Quirk: Electrification gives him the ability to charge electricity and emit it out of his body as a sort of protective aura that electrocutes anyone through contact. It’s primarily a defense mechanism, which can cause mild paralysis but when enough electricity is emitted it can discharge in all directions. The major drawback of this power is that it can and will harm people that are nearby. Including allies. It’s also able to be blocked with insulation and is useless against non-conductive type quirks.

Overuse of his quirk also has the terrible drawback of making him temporarily an idiot. This is honestly the best aspect… for those around him.

A full breakdown of Electrification"

History:
Coming from a happy, well-adjusted family he is also rather happy and well adjusted. If.. dumb. He has lofty goals of becoming a hero like so many other kids his age and has a good chance of doing so, especially with being accepted into U.A. High. He can’t be all that dim then, right?

Unfortunately, his history isn’t all that exciting, mostly because canon-wise, not much has been directly revealed.

Here's his wiki though.

Character Name: Tamaki Amajiki
Age: 15
Birthday: March 4th
Family: Unknown mother, Unknown father
Occupation: Student

Quirk:
"Manifest"
This Quirk allows Tamaki to manifest the characteristics of the things he eats using his body. This can include organic foods or non-organic foods. It is understood that is anything he is able to consume he can manifest. A simple example is if he eats takoyaki (an octopus based dish) he can manifest tentacles.

The range of the quirk varies, depending on what he consumes. He can also make combinations, in time of course. His quirk has a high potential of power.

Tamaki can only manifest what’s in his system though. This means he needs to eat what he wishes to manifest every day or else it will not be available to him. He will need some practice figuring out what works best for him and to build his stamina.

A full break down of the quirk.
History:
An only child of overbearing parents. Tamaki’s parents often injected themselves in everything he was doing as a child and took control of even the most minor situations. Already a more subdued child this soon shifted into shyness then crippling anxiety as he got older. He found himself increasingly unable to make decisions or take criticism of any level. Social situations were a nightmare and he had very few friends.

Well, he had at least one friend in Izuku Midoriya while he grew up. Tamaki was certain that it was all friendship of convenience as he struggled with the idea of anyone actually liking him for who he was. He often was apologizing for making mistakes or feeling harassed even when others were trying to give him compliments.

Despite his utter failure in all aspects of social interactions he still found himself becoming excited at the prospects of high school. Seeing his classmate Midoriya, a quirkless boy, deciding to shoot of U.A. of all places. Not wanting to be left behind by the one friend he’d managed to sort of, kind of make Tamaki also shot for U.A.

It was pure folly that he passed the entrance exam of course. There was no way he actually was able to pass without someone helping him along. He was pretty certain the examination panel was pitying him and he would most likely be expelled soon after they realized how useless he really was.

But he’d made it! Of course, it was only a matter of time, but he was at least there. Somehow… He tried not to think about it too much and to focus on moving forward.

Character Name: Saruhiko Fushimi
Age: 16
Birthday: November 7th
Family: Mostly Absent Mother, Asshole Father
Occupation: Student

Quirk:
"Search Engine"
Function
- Much like Google Fushimi can ‘search’ for information.
- Requires specific and carefully worded questions or else the wrong answers will be received.
- There are 3 levels of information. “Web” is easily found information such as public knowledge or surface information, “Dark Web” is more difficult wherein the information is more hidden and “Deep Web” is secrets held by a select few people.
- Each level has a certain number of questions available to find the information, which can be extended with quirk building. Web level has 5-7 questions available. Dark Web has 3-4 and Deep Web has 1-2. The more specific and precise the question the easier and faster it is to find the information.
- When question limit is reached or the information is found Fushimi can purge the information. At first, it is a full purge, removing any information found through the quirk and the questions related to it. As he builds the quirk he will be able to retain past questions and specific information. Until then, he has a notebook and smartwatch.

Drawbacks -
- Questions asked by outside sources can trigger the quirk when he’s tired or not focused.
- Headaches occur when overusing his quirk or overextending the information/question limits.
- The quirk cannot be used to predict combat and is generally very difficult to use in the midst of a fight due to the need to focus.
- This is a ‘researching’ quirk and as such he can search for factual information.
- If he’s in too much of a rush his Quirk may result in an ‘auto-fill’, much like a “did you mean this?” aspect of a search engine. This can result in the wrong information and a wasted question.

History: ~The edited version~
Fushimi is an only child. His father had gone out of his way to see if he could outsmart his mother, who has an intelligence boosting quirk, just out of spite due to an insult. Fushimi was the end result. Thusly, his mother has little to no interest in him, to the point that when the house was broken into and burgled she told the police she wasn't worried due to anything of value not being in there. Unfortunately, her son was actually in the house at the time. She also calls him Harushino, having forgotten what his actual name is.

His father, while naturally intelligent but disconnected from real life, was left to raise him. Because of his father's varying addictions and partying lifestyle he often left Fushimi alone most nights. When he was around he delighted in bullying the boy, utilizing his quirk to endlessly defeat Fushimi in games and puzzles and lord it over him.

Because of his parents' negligence, Fushimi started school a year late. He had to sign himself up which the situation also led to him discovering his quirk. Because he was forced to be mostly independent he utilized his quirk quite a bit.

Through his schooling he kept to himself, focusing on teaching himself technology and the means to creating support items for heros. His mother a major shareholder and head developer of a support item company and he had plenty of access to learning on his own. His father, ever supportive, mocked what he viewed as Fushimi's attempts to imitated his superior in intellect mother.

In reality, Fushimi was only trying to be acknowledged by one of his parents as successful at something. If not his parents, then he would settle for the world. His focus shifted to U.A. High. His goal was the Hero track, as it was the best way to showcase his victories on a world stage but he also wanted access to the support class workshop.

Wrapping the entrance exam up with a perfect score, Fushimi chose the support class to get that access, with full and open intention of switching over to the hero class once he had his personally designed support items approved for use. For now, he trains in his own time to prepare for his track jump, which he is obviously quite confident he can achieve.
